Our First Year of Marriage

My first real post and I thought I'd write about my first year of marriage!

First let me give you a back story. We met in November 2004 at norman north high school. I was a junior and he was a sophmore. We dated for 6 years and he FINALLY proposed July 11, 2010. We were married June 11, 2011 and on June 11, 2012 we will be celebrating a year of marriage on the beach just the 2 of us!

I wish I had kept a journal or something to write everything down! Any way I'm going to try to remember everything I can!
New York New York Hotel and Casino
Our first week of marriage was spent in LAS VEGAS! It was amazing! We walked around so much I maintained my hot wife body! We decided that every 5 years we'll go back to vegas but not stay as long and bring more money! We stayed at the New York New York Hotel and Casino! We saw Cirque De Solei (Im sure I butchered that spelling) and tried to stay out all night and only made it to 1 am! I blame it on the time change! John did a great job planning it!

We moved into a small 2 bedroom 1 bathroom (UGH) apartment. We didnt have a couch all we had was on office chair and pink girlie chair that John hated. If we wanted to cuddle i would have to sit on his lap which niether of us minded that. BUT thanks to wonderful in laws we had a couch a couple of months after we were married!
I'm pretty sure I'm the worst cook ever! I messed up hamburger helper! Needless to say we ate out alot! Which is the cause of me gaining 10 pounds! I'm not gonna lie I thought I was pregnant i gained it so fast! But that was a negative (Thank you God) and I was just getting fat, more on that later.
Anyway that first summer of our marriage was a blast! It was like an endless slumber party with my best friend in the world! We ate junk food and drank wine and stayed up late watching movies. It was fabulous! Then school started and John need to buckle down becasue it was his SENIOR YEAR!! Fall semester wasnt nearly as hard on us as the spring semester.
Our New Family! Left to Right Momma, Emily, TJ, Kelly, Me, John
Did I mention my brother got engaged and married during this time! I was a bridesmaid and John was the ringbeaer, yes you read that right! They had him DANCE down the aisle and I didnt think he'd do it but he did! I was the proud wife that stood at the end of the aisle videoing it (Bride okayed it) and then I was the idiot that deleted it thinking it was a picture of the floor :( It was a fun wedding and I'm happy for baby brother!

We got to experience our first OU TX game. The game was amazing! A total blast! But the crowd and the traffic SUCKED! It was worth it though! We both loved it and hope to get to do it again!

Our first Thanksgiving was busy and I think I gained more weight! We had two families to eat with and man did we eat! I dont think I ate at all on friday! I took John's black friday virginity! I dont know if I'll be able to talk him into doing that again! Lol!
Our first christmas was also busy! Like I said 2 people = 2 families = really busy christmas eve and christmas! John's brother came into town and John was really excited to see him again! I actually have no pictures of us on our first christmas :( but here was our tree! Our place is so tiny that the only place the tree would fit was on top of the kitchen table!
New years eve is always a let down but this year it was better because we did a small get together (instead of trying to go downtown or have a huge party) with our best friends at our apartment. We drank alot of champagne and kissed at midnight and had a hang over the next day.
I'm a hopeless romantic and John isnt. So for valentine's day I wasnt expecting what he did at all! He was such a sweetie! First he delievered roses and a red velvet cupcake to work. When I got off work he said I couldnt come home just yet so I went and delievered Mom and Emily their valentines. Anyway I get home and the house is spotless! PLUS he got me a gift card to go get a pedi! I tried my hand at making him fish (his favorite) and it turned out pretty good! He ate it all AND went for seconds! We decided to go out for valentines day the weekend after so it wouldnt be so crazy! I cant remember where we went to eat but I want to say Charleston's and we split ribs (How romantic, but that stuff is GOOD)! We saw The Vow and as always I cried and John made fun of me a little.
March things were starting to get crazy with mid terms and busy weekends! It kind of went by in a blur! But we did go out for St Patty's Day and I finally got to wear my only appropriate for this day shirt I got from Vegas!
We also starting going to the gym and as of may 26 John has lost 20 lbs and I've lost 6lbs! 4 pounds to go and I'll be at wedding day weight!
April was just as busy as March if not more. It was the end of the school year! I was staying strong and trying not to complain that I wasnt getting any quality time with my Johnny Wonny. But I should've known that he already knew. How long have we been together?? LOL! He was sweet when I had my breakdown about it and we had a countdown to when he would be done and we'd have time for each other.

May was here andJohn was graduating! I was so proud of my hubby! As soon as I saw John walk out I screamed his name! Yea I was that girl! But I couldnt help it! He worked so hard and I was so excited for him! And to be honest, I was glad he was finally done an I didnt have to share him with school work! Its been nice and relaxing at our home again!

I also turned 25 a couple days later and had a doctors appointment to find out why I've been so tired lately. Found out I have super low iron and I have a sweet man to remind me to take my iron pill! A week taking it and I already feel better!

I have no idea what I would do with out him. He's my other half. I forget and he remembers. I'm a lucky lady!

In couple of weeks we'll be in Corpus Christi celebrating our one year anniversary! Its been an amazing and exciting year! I cant wait to see what will come next!
